PSG Manager Laud Kylian Mbappe's Phenomenal Performance with a Brace against Angers
Paris Saint-Germain coach Christophe Galtier lavished praise on Kylian Mbappe after he netted two goals against Angers on Friday, April 21.
Thanks to Kylian Mbappe's two goals, Paris Saint-Germain secured a 2-1 victory against Angers in the first half, bringing them closer to a record-tying 11th Ligue 1 championship.
Just nine minutes into the game, the 24-year-old striker scored the first goal for the visitors, courtesy of a beautiful pass from Juan Bernat.
Four minutes shy of the half-hour mark, Kylian Mbappe doubled his tally and extended Paris Saint-Germain's lead with an exceptional assist from Lionel Messi.
Despite their persistence, Angers only managed to score a consolation goal, which made for a nervy finish. However, Paris Saint-Germain held on and secured a crucial victory, extending their lead at the top of the table to nine points, albeit having played one more game than their closest rivals, Marseille.
Galtier praised Mbappe extensively after the game had ended.
“Kylian is a great competitor,” Galtier told a press conference as quoted by Sportskeeda.
“He [Kylian Mbappe] scores so the team can win. He has this obsession to break records, to always be the first.
There is this championship title but also that of the top scorer in Ligue 1. He’s made like that. He is a competitor. He was born for it, and when he doesn’t score, he feels it.”
Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe combined to a devastating effect once again against Angers in stunning style on Friday evening, Sports Brief reported.
The Parisians opened the scoring after just 9 minutes thanks to Mbappe. The Frenchman then wasted no time to grab a brace 17 minutes later after a majestic display from Messi.
The Argentine phenom picked the ball up some 40 yards out and managed to provide a sublime through ball that pierced Angers’ backline.
