'Not his fault': Some Man United fans defend Maguire from trolls after Sevilla own goal
Manchester United threw away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Sevilla in the Europa League quarter-final first leg at Old Trafford.
The worst part? Both Sevilla goals were own goals - one by Tyrell Malacia and another by Harry Maguire in stoppage time.
To be fair, there's not much he could've done except maybe rue his bad luck. The ball bounced off a Sevilla player and Maguire just happened to be in the way.
Unless he turned invisible at that point, he had no way to stop the ball from rebounding off his head and going into the net.
It's probably one of the most unfortunate incidents this season but only Maguire seems to be getting the most negative comments on social media.
The trolling and memes have begun but some United fans are standing strong behind the captain to defend him. Here are some reactions from Twitter -
If you blame Maguire for that own goal by the way I have zero words for you. It’s unfortunate but never in a million years his fault.

2-0 under 25mins and it ends in a draw. But why y’all using maguire as a scape goat 🐐! Why don’t y’all talk about malacia’s own goal? Maguire is the best defender in the PL y’all should get that! pic.twitter.com/ufsrH0TW63

Maguire is the unluckiest mf on this planet, he has not even played badly and then boom own goal from nowhere.
