Mason Greenwood reveals to friends that he may not return to Man United in the future
Mason Greenwood, the struggling striker of Manchester United, has informed his acquaintances that he will no longer play for the club in the future, as per Ukdaily.
After being suspended, Greenwood had hopes of a prompt return to the field once his charges were dropped, but he has not played for more than 15 months now.
Last year, the 21-year-old was arrested and later charged with coercive behavior and sexual assault. However, in February of this year, the Crown Prosecution Services dropped his case.
Manchester United released a statement stating their plans to conduct an internal investigation before deciding on the way forward.
As per the Sun's report, it appears that Greenwood has given up on the prospect of representing Manchester United again, despite waiting for the club's verdict. The young star reportedly shared his decision with his friends.
A source reportedly told the Sun:
"He wants to get back to playing football but realises his situation is very complicated and it’s his own doing. He is determined to play football again but doesn’t think he’ll ever pull on a United shirt ever again."
There have been reports that the possibility of Greenwood's return has caused concerns within the Manchester United camp. Some members, including the Women's team, have expressed opposition to the idea.
