Mario Balotelli: “I Support Milan, But Owe My Career to Inter”
Mario Balotelli, the forward for FC Sion, has expressed his appreciation for the significant role that Inter Milan played in his football career.
Balotelli rose through the ranks of the Nerazzurri and quickly gained attention for his exceptional talent, making him one of the most sought-after young players.
During the 2009/10 season, Balotelli was a part of the Inter Milan team that achieved an unprecedented treble, led by Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho.
Despite his departure after that season, Balotelli acknowledged that the Italian club has a special place in his heart, and he remains a passionate supporter.
“I owe Inter a lot. I loved them and I still love them very much; even in my heart, I’m a Milan fan... I owe practically my entire career to Inter because they launched me and believed in me, I owe Moratti everything," he told the Muschio Selvaggio podcast, as quoted by SempreInter.
Balotelli also touched upon the topics of winning Serie A, the Coppa Italia, and the Champions League.
“I’ll tell you the truth, I didn’t believe in it, I didn’t think about it. Winning everything seemed too big to be true, I saw it as a dream.”
After scoring 20 goals in 59 games for Inter Milan, the striker joined Man City. However, his career took a hit due to several controversies.
Since then, he has changed teams frequently and currently plays for FC Sion in the Swiss league.
