Man Utd's Alejandro Garnacho Secures Staggering Pay Rise with New Contract Signing
Following his recent contract extension until 2028 with Manchester United, it appears that Alejandro Garnacho is poised to receive a significant increase in his salary.
At Old Trafford, the 19-year-old has had a breakthrough season and has established himself as a regular in Erik ten Hag's starting lineup.
Throughout this season, he has been able to achieve four goals and four assists across all competitions, including a memorable winning goal in United's 2-1 triumph over Fulham in November.
However, an ankle injury has hindered his progress, with the youngster's absence sorely missed in attack.
Garnacho returned to training recently and could be in line to face Aston Villa on Saturday, as the Red Devils bear down on a Champions League finish.
Manchester United confirmed the Argentinian had signed a new deal via their official website on Friday afternoon, but how much will he earn a week?
Earlier in the season, The Daily Mail claimed that Garnacho was set to be offered 10 times his current salary.
If reports are to be believed, the teenager would see his wage increase tenfold from £5,000 per-week to £50,000.
While the winger's pay packet is expected sky-rocket, number one goalkeeper David De Gea is reportedly set to take a pay cut, as Ten Hag attempts to lower the club's wage bill.
Speaking to the press in wake of signing a new deal, Garnacho credited Ten Hag and his staff for helping him improve as a player this season.
"When I joined this incredible club, I dreamt of achieving my debut, playing at Old Trafford, scoring my first goal and winning trophies with this badge on my chest," he said.
"I feel very proud and emotional to have experienced these moments already, together with my family who have supported me every step of the way.
"We are all humbled to have this chance to continue our journey at Manchester United and I have already begun to work on achieving the next set of targets and ambitions.
"The manager and his coaching staff have helped me to improve in every way, and with their support, I am developing each day to help the team to be successful."
Garnacho will hope to add to this season's achievements by helping secure Champions League football and lift the FA Cup trophy.
