'His confidence is terrifying': Xavi explains calling Lamine Yamal up for Atletico game

"Lamine is a player who has talent. He is 15 years old, but he has personality, the final pass, confidence in one-on-one situations. He can mark an important stage at the club. He is happy," Xavi has told the media.

"I really liked what I've seen in Lamine [in training], and that's why he's called up. He is in very good condition and they can be useful for the first team.

"Youngsters are not afraid of these challenges. They are different to the ones from my time as a player. Lamine's confidence is terrifying. He has had wonderful training sessions," the Barca boss also said.

Lamine Yamal has become the youngest-ever player to receive a first-team call-up at Barca. There is a chance that he even gets his first minutes with the senior team on Sunday.

The 15-year-old plays for Juvenil A [Barca U19] despite his young age. He can cover every position upfront.
