Danny Rose Launches Tirade Against Tottenham Teammates After Conceding 5 Goals in Just 21 Minutes
Yesterday, while Tottenham was playing against Newcastle, Danny Rose couldn't help but hold back his tears as he witnessed his team conceding five goals in just 21 minutes of the first half.
The first-half result of 5-0 was a consequence of Jacob Murphy and summer signing Alexander Isak scoring two goals each, and Joelinton scoring one goal.
This led to a massive defeat for Tottenham.
During the second half of the game, Harry Kane managed to score a goal for Tottenham, reducing the goal difference. However, Newcastle's Calum Wilson, who had just come off the bench, scored a goal with his first touch of the game, securing a comprehensive victory for Newcastle.
According to the Mirror UK, Danny Rose, who used to be a full-back for Tottenham, has been without a club since his contract was mutually terminated at Watford in September last year.
Danny Rose expressed his complete disbelief at the scoreline and criticized his former club and some of his ex-teammates for their subpar performance.
Having spent 14 years on Tottenham's payroll and also playing for Newcastle United on loan in 2020, the 32-year-old Danny Rose was a member of the Tottenham squad that made it to the 2019 UEFA Champions League final.
Danny Rose was critical of Cristian Stellini's team, pointing out the numerous defensive errors made during the game. He also questioned how a team that performed so poorly can still be considered a massive club.
''All I’ve been thinking all first half is how am I unemployed?,'' he told Sky Sports.
Danny Rose, who came up through the academy at Leeds United, confessed to not having watched football for quite some time, including the upcoming Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup. He expressed missing the atmosphere of football and declared that he is ready for one more job.
''It was only until the other night I watched City in the Champions League - and watching it, listening to the music, I started to think 'OK I miss it.'''
