Chelsea owner Todd Boehly backs Lampard with VERY bold score prediction for Real Madrid clash
It's fair to say Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is confident ahead of Wednesday night's Champions League quarter-final clash against Real Madrid. And when I say confident, I mean REALLY confident.
The 49-year-old American billionaire, who helped buy the Premier League club last year for £4.25 billion after former owner Roman Abramovich was forced to sell up, has made some bold statements since taking over at Stamford Bridge.
He backed former manager Thomas Tuchel with a hefty £273.5 million transfer budget in the summer before spending an unprecedented and historic £300 million in January.
Boehly and his team also made the controversial decision to sack Graham Potter after just six months in charge and hire former player/manager Frank Lampard as interim boss.
Lampard certainly has his work cut out on Wednesday when Chelsea come up against defending European champions Real Madrid in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.
But Boehly comes into the game with belief. In fact, when speaking to Sky Sports before kick-off, the American businessman backed the Blues to beat Los Blancos.
"Chelsea is going to win 3-0," he said. "I say have a lot of faith and we are going to win 3-0 tonight."
Boehly also insisted that fans should continue to back the team, adding: "Have a lot of faith, and we're gonna win 3-0 tonight. We look at this as a very long-term process, and we have a lot of work to do. We're excited about the future. The future is bright."

Lampard opened up on managing in the Champions League again in his pre-match press conference.
“Yes, it is amazing. I have been fortunate enough to manage in the Champions League – two seasons - and as a player it was always the special competition.
“So to be here as a manager particularly when a week ago today I did not know I would be here is a huge honour for me of course and a big part of my thought process when taking on the challenge here.
"This is an amazing challenge for me personally as well as for us a team and a club.
“We have very tough games in front of us, starting tomorrow. So there’s a lot of work to be done but we’re very committed to trying to, if we can, create our own little bit of history.”
