Chelsea offer Kepa in reported swap deal with Inter Milan's Onana
According to as report, Chelsea is prepared to swap their goalkeeper Kepa with Inter's top goalkeeper.
As you might have guessed, Chelsea will be the main movers in the transfer market this upcoming summer. Following the operation that led to Lukaku’s return to Milan last year, Inter and Chelsea will return to the negotiating table to discuss the Belgian forward, but that is not all: according to ‘La Gazzetta dello Sport’, right-back Dumfries is on the agenda, as well as the main target for The Blues: AndrĂ© Onana.
The Cameroonian goalkeeper, who is shining more than ever in the Champions League this season, has been under the magnifying glass of the Chelsea scouts, who have followed him closely against Porto, Benfica and Juve.
Chelsea, in addition to a massive fee, are also willing to put Kepa’s transfer on the table during negotiations for Onana. The Spaniard has once again become the starting goalkeeper at Stamford Bridge, but the Londoners have agreed to let him leave in order to secure the signature of the Inter goalkeeper.
Inter, who signed Onana as a free agent from Ajax in 2022, value him at around €40 million. The club’s financial situation will, this summer, force them into not only considering big-money offers for their top players but accepting them, and as such they have already started looking for replacements.
One of the favourites to replace Onana is Guglielmo Vicario from Empoli, who would cost around half the price of Onana’s potential sale. Kepa, however, is well liked by the Italian club, and his arrival from abroad would activate the benefits of the ‘Crescita Decree’, the Italian Beckham Law (a law in which foreign players cost less tax for the clubs).
The Spaniard was already one step away from Italian football last year, when Napoli came very close to signing the player on loan. It seems that all Kepa’s timelines this summer will once again converge on Italian soil.
