Barcelona prepare world record offer for Lyon's Ada Hegerberg
Barcelona are set to shatter two transfer records with a huge deal for Lyon Feminin striker Ada Hegerberg.
The Blaugrana already hold the record the biggest transfer in women's football history, having forked out just over £400,000 to sign England midfielder Keira Walsh from Manchester City.
But they are slated to go one better by attempting to draft in Hegerberg, the first ever women's Ballon d'Or winner in 2018.
As per MARCA, Barca have earmarked the Norway international as their top target and feel as though it could be time to prize her away from Lyon after nine seasons and 212 goals in 198 games.
The 27-year-old will not only become the most expensive player in the world, she will also be highest-paid player in the women's game.
Barca first made contact with Hegerberg in May when she was on target and registered an assist as Lyon beat the Catalan outfit 3-1 in the Women's Champions League final at the Allianz Stadium in Munich.
They see her as a priority signing and want to pair Hegerberg with Ballon d'Or winner Alexia Putellas.
And with Lyon being knocked out of the Champions League by Chelsea last month, Barca feel as though she might just be ready to move on for a new challenge.
Hegerberg has one year left on her contract at the Groupama Stadium but met with Barca president Joan Laporta during the Ballon d'Or ceremony.
The La Liga giants, who have had two bids rejected by Lyon in the past, want to get the deal wrapped up before the Women's World Cup in Australia and New Zealand kicks off.
