Alexandro Garnacho expected to be fit but ruled out of FA Cup final against Man City

Reports suggest that Alejandro Garnacho has decided not to play for Manchester United in their FA Cup final against Manchester City, as he has prioritized playing for his country.

The young striker, who sustained an ankle injury during a match against Southampton on March 12, has been absent from the game ever since.

However, he recently provided a promising update on his recovery by sharing a picture of himself with boots on at Carrington, which is a significant boost for Erik ten Hag, given the limited options he has had due to injuries.

Nonetheless, the teenager's decision to make himself available to play for Argentina in the Under-20 World Cup means that he will likely miss the last two Premier League games and the FA Cup final in June.

Argentinian reporter Damian Villagra asserts that Garnacho has made a choice to represent Javier Mascherano's team.

He wrote on Twitter: "Alejandro Garnacho's decision is to come and play the World Cup for the Argentina National Team."

The group stage matches against Uzbekistan, Guatemala, and New Zealand are slated to be played between May 20 and May 26, coinciding with the FA Cup weekend, with the knockout rounds of the Under-20 tournament also taking place during the same time.

On May 25th, United will play against Chelsea at Old Trafford and then in the last match of the 2022/23 season, they will face Fulham.

It is important to mention that neither Manchester United nor Argentina have verified this information as the young player is still recuperating from an injury.

Recently, there were rumors that United is not willing to permit Garnacho to participate in the upcoming international matches next month.

The South American country of Argentina has included the teenager in their initial squad for the upcoming tournament that they will host.

Nonetheless, Argentinian reporter Gaston Edul has claimed that Manchester United is trying to prevent the 18-year-old from participating in the tournament.

In a tweet translated from Spanish, Edul said: "Manchester United does not want to give up Alejandro Garnacho for the World Cup and they have already communicated it.

"It is difficult for them to leave. AFA and [U20 boss Javier] Mascherano are going to do everything possible to keep him there but it is complicated."
