Al Nassr Defeat Puts Cristiano Ronaldo on Course for Unwanted Career First

Cristiano Ronaldo may experience an undesired milestone in his 21-year career at the peak of professional soccer.

On Monday, Ronaldo's team, Al Nassr, lost to 10-man Al Wehda in the semi-finals of the King Cup of Champions, resulting in elimination.

Only two months ago in the last encounter between the two teams, Ronaldo impressively scored four goals, leading his team to a resounding 4-0 victory.

Nevertheless, in the latest match at KSU Stadium, they suffered a 1-0 defeat, with Jean-David Beauguel netting the solitary goal of the game in the 23rd minute.

This is not the first time that Ronaldo has displayed intense anger, and during the recent match, he was seen venting at his own team's bench during halftime as his frustration got the best of him once again.

Despite hitting the bar late in the game, the 38-year-old could not prevent his team's defeat. Even though Al Wehda were reduced to ten men with Abdullah Al-Hafith's red card just after half-time, they held on to secure a place in the final against Al Hilal.

The loss, along with previous defeats in the Riyadh Super Cup and the Saudi Super Cup, indicates that Ronaldo may be on the verge of creating some unwanted history.

There is a possibility that Ronaldo might not win any major titles this season, which would be similar to his previous season with Manchester United in 2021/22, where they finished the campaign in sixth place without any trophies.

Throughout his career, starting from his debut in 2003 with Sporting CP, the renowned footballer who has played for Real Madrid and Juventus has never gone back-to-back season without winning a trophy.

Al Nassr are currently in second place in the Saudi Pro League, and it represents his sole opportunity to secure a title.

Despite being three points behind league leaders Al Ittihad, they have played one more game than their title rivals.

Al Nassr made a recent managerial change by dismissing Rudi Garcia and appointing Dinko Jelicic, who previously coached the club's Under 19 side.

Ronaldo has scored 11 goals in 14 games since his free transfer to the team, which was accompanied by a jaw-dropping annual salary of £175 million, following the mutual termination of his contract with United.
