Wrexham announce friendly with Manchester United with incredible Sir Alex Ferguson video

Wrexham have announced a huge friendly with Manchester United in the summer.

The Welsh outfit are on the verge of securing promotion to the Football League, having taken 97 points from 39 games in the National League.

And Phil Parkinson's side will get ready for a return to big time with a huge clash against United. The meeting will take place in San Diego, California on July 25 as part of United's first pre-season tour in America in five years.

There is talk that United will lock horns with another Premier League side at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas as part of the run-in.

But the encounter with Wrexham is an intriguing one and the club announced with a brilliant video starring Hollywood star owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, as well as legendary United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

Reynolds and McElhenney completed their takeover of Wrexham in February 2021 and saw the team narrowly miss out on promotion and also lost in the FA trophy final at Wembley.

The duo have fully immersed themselves in the city and incredibly, are in line to play for Wrexham in a new seven-a-side tournament taking place in Cary, Northern California in June.

The friendly across the pond could see Ben Foster come up against his old employers after he came out of retirement to sign for the Dragons.
