The midfielder recently won the Player of the Year at the London Football Awards - a clear indication of exactly how vital he's been.
"He’s been a brilliant signing [Martin] Odegaard," said Ray Parlour on talkSPORT.
"They [Arsenal] tried to go for [James] Maddison, £60 million - £70 million and they couldn’t get him probably.
"They went with Odegaard for about £35 million, what a steal. He’s never injured, he’s always wants the ball in tight situations.
"That’s why Real Madrid went in for him as a youngster, he didn’t make it, but now he’s such an important player for Arsenal."
Indeed, Odegaard has been a game changer for the Gunners since his arrival. He took no time in becoming the captain of our young side and has played a key role in our rise to the top of the Premier League table.
