'What did he do to Klopp?': Liverpool fans baffled by Jurgen's decision to bring on Fabio Carvalho so late vs Real Madrid
Liverpool lost 1-0 on the night and 6-2 on aggregate to Real Madrid in the Champions League Round of 16.
Karim Benzema scored the 78th minute winner for Madrid and Liverpool never really seemed like winning the tie over 180 minutes.
Klopp made one late substitution in the last 10 seconds of stoppage time and it was a player that hasn't seen much game time, that came on.
Fans are irked by Klopp's decision to bring Fabio Carvalho on so late and also the general lack of game time he has been getting:
Anfield Edition: "What did Fabio Carvalho do to Jurgen Klopp?"
LFCLaurie: "He brought on Ox, who we know is leaving, for 15 minutes, yet gives Carvalho, who is supposed to be the future of this club 10 seconds? Played out of position, left out of squads and now this this. The way Klopp has used him this season has been disgraceful."
AnfieldFix: "Carvalho would’ve been a 50m player by now if he stayed at Fulham."
Simon: "We completely destroyed our rep among elite youngsters in the market by the treatment of Carvalho."
R8: "He absolutely hates Carvalho why would you bring him on with 15 seconds to go what did he actually do to Klopp."
Mini: "Someone save Carvalho from Klopp please."
LFCHalps: "I’m not just saying this because it’s Carvalho but as a professional footballer there must be nothing more embarrassing than this. The manager brings you on in stoppage time when you’re losing. There’s absolutely no point in doing it. I’m embarrassed and feel sorry for the kid."
