'We win and lose together': Martin Odegaard backs Gabriel Martinelli after penalty heartbreak

Speaking to BT Sport on Thursday, Martin Odegaard said: "We win and lose together. It [Gabriel Martinelli's miss] doesn't matter.

"When we're winning everyone is happy, when we lose we have to pick up the spirit. We win and lose together.

"We knew Sporting Lisbon were a good team and we were prepared for the game. It was more about us today.

"We didn't play with the same energy we normally do. Now we have to look forward to the league, that's all we can do."

Arsenal are out of the Europa League after losing 5–3 to Sporting Lisbon in a Round of 16 second-leg clash on Thursday (1–1 on aggregate).

Martinelli was the only player to miss a penalty Jose Alvalade Stadium with the Gunners having to shelve their dreams of a European trophy for this season.
