Valverde responds to Journalist question if Barca won 2017/18 La Liga only because of referees

After the Athletic-Barca game, a journalist asked Ernesto Valverde if Barcelona won the 2017/18 La Liga only thanks to 'favourable' referees.

"We won the league with a 14-point lead over the second place [Atletico Madrid] and also won the Cup final 5-0. There was no question of what team was the best in Spain that season," the former Blaugrana boss replied.

Pure facts from Ernesto. Barcelona finished that league season with the goal difference of +70 and 99 goals scored. Real Madrid, in turn, were 17 points behind with the final goal difference of +50.

Barca's dominance was obvious – as well as next season when they also comfortably claimed the title.

As a reminder, Barcelona are being accused of favourable treatment from the referees from 2016 to 2018.
