"There is no doubt about it": Xavi brilliantly reacts to Ancelotti's comments over VAR decision in Clasico
Xavi Hernandez has dismissed any doubts over the use of VAR in their recent 2-1 victory over Real Madrid. The decision to rule out a potential late winner for Real Madrid in the El Clasico match has been a subject of controversy, with Carlo Ancelotti expressing doubts about the call.
Real Madrid believed they had scored a goal towards the end of the game. However, after the referees checked the play, it was found that Asensio was offside. When the ball was crossed in by Carvajal, it appeared that Asensio was slightly ahead of Kounde.
Ancelotti, though, isn't convinced that it was the right call. "We did not win because of an offside that we're still doubtful about," the Italian told reporters. "It was not so sure. We have doubts about it, and we go back to Madrid with this doubt."
Xavi admitted that he was surprised by Ancelotti's comments: "It's a scientific question. It is clearly offside and there is no doubt. If people are talking about the VAR today, it's a joke. The offside is very clear."
