Therapy, TV interview & more: Man United's potential plan to welcome Mason Greenwoo
Mason Greenwood had all charges of rape and assault against him officially dropped last month. However, since the 21-year-old has not been declared innocent, Manchester United have a massive dilemma on their hands.
An internal investigation is ongoing and the Red Devils could reintroduce the striker back into the squad as part of a 'phased return to football'. Still, no decision has been made by the club yet and 'parting of the ways' is also possible.
Should Greenwood stay, the Red Devils are likely to consider 'the sentiment of fan groups, sponsors and the women's team'. He will be encouraged to 'receive a form of counselling or therapy, ahead of a possible broader rehabilitation'.
A TV interview has also been thought of as something that could give the young forward an opportunity to tell his version of the events which began in January of last year. In any case, the process will be 'gradual' and could take a long time.
Should Man United decide to bring Greenwood back, they could frame his as 'a young man who has made mistakes and is remorseful for his actions' while also helping rehabilitate a player who has been at the club since the age of six.
