'The right team went through': Klopp on Real Madrid knocking Liverpool out of Champions League

"We couldn't put a special performance on the pitch tonight," Jurgen Klopp told BT Sport after Liverpool's 1-0 defeat to Real Madrid.

"Ali had to make two sensational saves. The right team went through, that's what we have to admit.

"The game tonight, Madrid was the better team and won the game. In 3 halves of the fixture they were the better team."

After losing to Real Madrid 6-2 on the aggregate, Liverpool exit the Champions League in the Round of 16.

It means that the Reds will only have the Premier League to focus on until the end of the season.
