Ten Hag explains Garnacho substitution v Southampton - it wasn't just about injury

Although Alejandro Garnacho's injury had partly enforced his removal, Erik Ten Hag clarified that his removal against Southampton was also tactical.

"He was limping a little bit after a bad tackle. So in the end I thought they bring on another striker, a tall one, I don't want to go for a risk, we were already down to 10, to go to maybe 90%, that's why I took him off but I think it's not too bad."

United travel to Spain in midweek for their Europa League round-of-16 second leg against Real Betis and host Fulham in the FA Cup quarter-final on Sunday.
