Speaking at a press conference and being asked if Barcelona can be expected to make major signings in the summer window, Javier Tebas said: “Barcelona were unable to sign players in January.
“And they will be unable to buy players in the summer.”
This could be because of Barca exceeded their La Liga salary cap and have been asked to reduce €200m from their wage structure to comply with the league’s rules.
At this point, it appears that Joan Laporta will have to probably make some major sales in the summer to bring in world-class players or activate more levers to get the club out of its financial issues.
