Spotted: Kessie in disbelief after Ansu Fati blocks his goal-bound strike vs Courtois
Franck Kessie produced an impressive display in Barcelona’s 1-0 win over Real Madrid in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-finals.
The midfielder played a key role in the winning goal, as it was his shot that was saved before being deflected for an Eder Militao own-goal.
However, Kessie had a big chance to make it 2-0 and potentially win the entire tie in the second leg.
In the second half, Ferran Torres was sent through the right wing. The Spaniard went past a few defenders to cut back a lovely pass to his teammate.
Kessie seemingly struck a low shot that was goal-bound that seemed destined to beat Thibaut Courtois – only for substitute Ansu Fati to block it and divert it wide of the target.
The Ivorian midfielder was really annoyed with the youngster because he felt the shot was bound to result in a goal.
Kessie let out signs of frustrations, throwing his arms up in disbelief and then stomping the ground in annoying fashion.
However, eventually he understood that Fati did not mean to block it intentionally – with the Barca no.10 also acknowledging his error.
In the end, however, it didn’t really matter that much as Barca ran away as 1-0 winners from the game.
