Sir Jim Ratcliffe refuses to pay 'stupid' price to buy Man United
In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Sir Jim Ratcliffe discussed his takeover attempt of Manchester United.
A boyhood fan of the club, Ratcliffe is refusing to bow to the Glazers' demand of over £6 billion for a full sale.
Explaining his decision, the INEOS founder said: "Our interest in that club would be purely in winning things.
"How do you decide the price of a painting? How do you decide the price of a house?
"It’s not related to how much it cost to build or how much it cost to paint.
"What you don’t want to do is pay stupid prices for things because then you regret it subsequently."
The British billionaire is one of the interested parties to buy the club. There is also interest from Qatar, with both sides racing to the finish line.
