Roberto Firmino to leave Liverpool at the end of the season

Roberto Firmino will leave Liverpool after 8 years at Anfield, per Sky Sport's Florian Plettenberg.

Firmino personally told Jurgen Klopp that he wants to leave the club after talks with the German manager.

"It was a good talk [with Klopp]. He won’t extend his contract," Plettenberg confirms.

Firmino has enjoyed tremendous success at Liverpool where he won seven trophies including the Premier League and Champions League.

No current Liverpool player has played more games under Klopp than Firmino who has featured 346 times. Altogether, Firmino has played 352 games for Liverpool scoring 107 goals and 78 assists.

This season, injuries have taken a toll on the 31-year-old restricting him to just 16 stats in all competitions. Since his return from his latest injury in February the attacker is yet to start a game.

However, Firmino remains an experienced and skilled forward and his nine goals and four assists go to highlight his pedigree.
