'Raul is plan B': Top source names Real Madrid's next coach, not Zidane

Mauricio Pochettino is now in pole position to become Real Madrid's next coach after Carlo Ancelotti with Raul only considered a plan B, as per Jorge Picon of Relevo.

Real Madrid's previous target was Thomas Tuchel with the German coach even going as far as learning Spanish while waiting for a call from Madrid.

However, Bayern Munich took advantage of the gap and swooped to hire the former Chelsea coach in a bid to prevent him from joining Real Madrid at the end of the season.

Pochettino who is Real's new target was sacked by PSG last summer after he failed to win the Champions League. The Argentine coach is one of the high-profile managers who are looking for a new job including Zinedine Zidane, Julian Nagelsmann and Antonio Conte.

There has been no talk of Zidane returning for a third spell so that option seems unlikely.
