Mount allegedly left out of Chelsea squad for Leicester game despite being 'fully fit'

According to Chelsea insider sam_c345 on Twitter, Mason Mount's protracted contract talks may have played a role in Graham Potter's thinking to leave him out of the squad for the Leicester game.

"Being told that Mason Mount was left out of yesterday's squad. Player described as 'fully fit'," the report reads.

"Possibilities of Mason not signing a new contract could have played a factor in GP decision to leave him out of the side that beat Leicester yesterday afternoon."

Mount's current deal expires in 2024, and there's a strong chance that he will leave Chelsea unless he agrees a new deal by the summer.

It's worth pointing out that the report was made by an anonymous Twitter user who, nevertheless, proved to have exclusive information on the Chelsea lineup ahead of several games this season.

At the same time, Mount and Chelsea have apparently agreed to park the talks until the end of the season - so it's not clear how they could've impacted Potter's thinking.
