Mikel Arteta gives blunt reaction to Arsenal's Europa League exit

Mikel Arteta on if Arsenal did enough to go through: “No, because we haven’t won it.

"A huge blow, obviously. There were moments, especially in the first 75 minutes, that we weren’t at our level. We gave every single ball away & we didn’t have the capacity to dominate the game.”

He added: “It’s true then the last 15 minutes, we had the chances & the extra-time, the chances to win it & when it goes down to the penalties then it’s a lot of uncertainty & we lost it."

Arsenal and Sporting played out a 1-1 draw after extra time. The Portuguese side won 5-3 on penalties.
