Lisandro Martinez – 8.5

Started the game shakily and booked early on, but turned up warrior mode after Casemiro saw red. Worked double time and covered a lot of ground to neutralize chances. Made 4 clearances, won 2 tackles, 4/5 ground duels and also made 9 possession recoveries in a solid outing.

Raphael Varane – 8

Like Martinez, Varane also had to work really hard with little protection to his backline. Made some vital challenges, including great blocks too. Made 3 clearances, 2 blocks and 3/4 ground duels won.

Bruno Fernandes – 7.5

Bruno had to play a variety of different roles in one game, but worked his socks off to try and help his side win. Created a few big chances with terrific delivery and almost scored in the second half, with his sweet shot forcing an amazing save from Bazunu.

Marcus Rashford – 5

Rashford was often at the thick of the action in the final third, getting into some great positions. However, his finishing wasn’t at his ruthless best and neither was his decision-making.

Jadon Sancho – 4.5

Sancho started as a no.10 on the day, but just doesn’t seem to be comfortable there. Failed to provide much defensive cover, couldn't really press the opposition players and couldn’t create anything major too. His decision-making in the final third was poor and he seemed lost in the intensity of the game.

Wout Weghorst – 4

His link-up play was nice, but that’s just about it. Failed to get into major areas and missed a few promising chances too. Taken off before half-time after Casemiro’s red.
