Man United invite Sheikh Jassim & 2 more bidders to Old Trafford 'for second stage' of sale – explained
The second stage of the Man United takeover process is set to be initiated over the next fortnight, claims the Daily Mail’s Mike Keegan.
A series of meetings are now to take place between the bidders that have qualified with their bids, the Raine Group and the top management people from the club.
Qatari Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al Thani, along with Jim Ratcliffe and a ‘third bidding party’ have all been asked to travel to Manchester for the talks soon.
There is some frustration over the slow movement of pace in the takeover talks.
At the first stage, the bidders were given access to United’s data room. But it is thought that the records shown weren’t enough to get a comprehensive understanding of the club’s accounts.
The Raine Group will now orchestrate meetings between the bidders and also include the likes of United CEO Richard Arnold and CFO Cliff Batty.
However, it’s still not known whether any members of the Glazer Family will be involved in these meetings.
