Kounde 9.5, Raphinha 3: rating Barca players in Real Madrid win

Jules Kounde - 9.5

The Frenchman played at centre-back tonight and was impeccable. Kounde won most of his duels, made numerous interceptions and blocks. Besides, Jules was good on the ball and even pushed forward with a ball late in the game.

Ronald Araujo - 8.5

Tasked to stop Vinicius Junior, the Barcelona defender had another field day tonight. Araujo didn't get dribbles past at least once and kept Real Madrid's winger quiet for the majority of the game.

Ronald wasn't particularly good going forward but nobody asks that of him.

Marcos Alonso - 8

Credit where credit is due, the left-back turned centre-back had a very solid outing at Santiago Bernabeu tonight. Alonso was great in the air and on the ground, and an additional bonus was his decent passing.

Frenkie de Jong - 7.5

The Dutchman was the only Barca midfielder that was actually interested in keeping the ball tonight. Thanks to his physicality and good dribbling, Frenkie managed to break through Madrid's press when others couldn't.

Franck Kessie - 7

Kessie was heavily involved in our only goal of the game as it was after his shot that the ball took a deflection off Militao and entered the net. He had another chance to score but was denied by Ansu Fati, ironically.

That aside, the Ivorian didn't impress as he was often pulled out of his position.

Raphinha - 3

It was frustrating to watch Raphinha tonight. The winger helped a lot defensively, there's no denying that. However, you expect more from a Barca player when Madrid leave tons of spaces behind and the defender facing him is Nacho.

Just one successful dribble, no shots and now key passes -- that's what Raphinha has to show for his first Clasico as a starter.

Others: Ter Stegen 7.5, Balde 6.5, Busquets 5.5, Ferran 7, Gavi 6, Fati 5, Roberto n/a.
