Klopp pays respect to Real Madrid for playing Liverpool's anthem at Bernabeu
After the match between Real Madrid and Liverpool at Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday, the hosts played "You will never walk alone", traditionally considered the anthem of the Reds.
As Liverpool Echo reports, this is a gesture of gratitude after Liverpool paid tribute former honorary Madrid president Amacio Amaro in the first leg. Amaro had passed away earlier that day.
Liverpool's coach Jurgen Klopp reacted to the gesture after the game.
"It was a really nice gesture. We are two heavyweights who meet each other quite frequently in international competition and it’s clear we respect each other a lot and however we did something like that, it was a really nice gesture I have to say."
