Jurgen Klopp's reaction to Roberto Firmino's impending exit revealed

Jurgen Klopp pushed Roberto Firmino to stay beyond this season but ultimately had to accept that the Brazilian will depart Anfield in the summer.

That is according to Sky Germany's Florian Plettenberg who broke the original story about Firmino's decision to leave Liverpool. It has been confirmed by multiple sources since then.

"Jurgen Klopp was very very motivated to extend his contract. He was pushing until the end," Plettenberg told Redmen TV.

"He has often said it to the media but he also told it to Firmino personally. Klopp wanted him to stay!"

Firmino won't have a shortage of options as a free agent, meaning that he could get better terms at a new club than those he could've got at Liverpool.

The forward will undoubtedly leave as a club legend after eight years at Anfield. In 353 games for Liverpool, Firmino scored 107 goals, helping the Reds win six trophies.
