It took Erling Haaland just 30 touches to score five goals against RB Leipzig

Erling Haaland only touched the ball 30 times during his remarkable five-goal haul against RB Leipzig.

Haaland starred as Manchester City battered Leipzig 7-0 on the night (8-1 on aggregate) to book their place in the Champions League quarter-finals.

The 22-year-old smashed a hat-trick in the first-half, then added his fourth and fifth goal in the second-half, scoring two goals in the space of four blistering minutes.

And he needed just 30 touches to bag five goals against the Bundesliga outfit, highlighting his incredible efficiency in front of goal.

He now has 39 goals in all competitions this season and is also the leading scorer in the Champions League, having netted 10 goals this campaign.

But he was denied a record-breaking double hat-trick in the Champions League and he revealed what he said to Pep Guardiola following his substitution.

"I told Pep when I went off that I would love to score a double hat-trick," the Norwegian superstar joked. "But what I can do!"

Speaking about his side's victory, Haaland said: "This was a big night. I am proud to play in the Champions League, I love this competition - as everyone knows. Five goals to win 7-0 at home, I am so happy!

"We worked on pressing them for this game, especially at home but in every game we need to put the opposition under pressure. We are so good at winning the ball high up the pitch and moving forward quickly, working the ball to Kevin de Bruyne."

On his goals, he added: "For a lot of my goals, I am not really thinking too much. My intention is always just to get the ball into the back of the net, to be quick in the mind and to do the right thing by instinct - by getting the ball past the goalkeeper. Obviously some of that is quality, but a lot of it is in the head."
