Manchester City head coach Pep Guardiola has insisted Vincent Kompany will take his job one day.
The Premier League champions have drawn Burnley in the FA Cup quarter-finals with the Championship club managed by City legend Kompany.
And Guardiola reckons it is only a matter of time before his former charge is sitting in his spot in the managerial dugout at the Etihad.
The Catalan said: “The consistency they are showing is unbelievable.
“They are close to being promoted; I am delighted to see his success.
“He will be back sooner or later. His destiny to be Man City boss is written in the stars.
“It is going to happen; I don’t know when but it is going to happen.
“We have a chance to reach Wembley, we will compete against Vinny and his team.”
It might be easy to write off Burnley but Kompany has had a transformative effect at the club, overhauling the philosophy under Sean Dyche and implementing a more progressive style of play.
As a result, the Clarets are steamrolling the Championship and are 12 points clear at the top of the table with promotion all but confirmed, leading third-placed Middlesbrough by 19 points.
