'I'm happy now at Fulham': Willian expresses regret over Chelsea departure

Willian said as transcribed by The Sun: “Yeah. I wish I’d never left (Chelsea). Of course it’s easy to say now, but when I stop and think about all the situations…

“I say to myself ‘I wish I never left’. It’s life. I’m happy now at Fulham, enjoying myself there, this is life.”

The winger added: “They are flying now.

“I don’t know. It was in the middle of the… it was changing a lot. I was excited when I signed with them. I was training hard but it just didn’t work, and that’s it.”

Willian moved to Arsenal on a free transfer after leaving Chelsea in 2020. The 34-year-old failed to make a massive impact at the Emirates Stadium and left after just one season.

Now back in England from his spell at Corinthians, Willian is flouring at Fulham and has become a key figure in Marco Silva’s team. He has scored three goals and given two assists in 17 Premier League starts so far this season.
