'I took that from him': Saka reveals his Arsenal idol growing up
"The way I play, I’m always going to attract contact," explained Bukayo Saka in an interview with the Evening Standard.
"I watched Alexis Sanchez a lot growing up. He was a special player, I loved many things about him.
"That’s one of the qualities he had, he always got up, fought to the end. You could say I took that from him."
Saka has made fans proud by establishing himself as a driving force behind Arsenal's ascent to the top of the Premier League table.
He's scored 11 goals and assisted nine more across competitions this season so far, apparently taking a leaf out of Sanchez's book.
Alexis was a firm fan favourite at the Emirates before he infamously swapped clubs to join Manchester United. His career was simply not the same after the move.
The 34-year-old now plays for Marseille, scoring 10 goals and assisting once in the Ligue 1 this term.
