'Don't destroy your life': Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta gives big piece of advice to Potter

Graham Potter hinted that his mental health has suffered since taking up the Chelsea job. Added to that, Potter confirmed that his family have received death threats following Chelsea's poor form.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has advised managers like Potter to take care of themselves amid the pressure to perform.

"We all know the pressure, the demands and the uncertainty that this industry has," Arteta said.

"You can have difficulties in your job and challenges, which we do, especially when you lose, but when you are winning as well because this job is so demanding.

"But you cannot destroy your life because of that.

"Your family, your friends, your loved ones, the people around you, don't deserve to have their lives affected in such a negative way because you don't win a football match.

"So that balance I think in my case was critical, but you need some help, someone to paint that picture in front of you because sometimes when you are in that position it is not easy to see," Arteta concluded.

Potter has struggled a get going at Chelsea with the Blues losing 10 games in his last 17 in a horrific run that dates back to October last year.

If Potter is to take Arteta's advice literally, he could decide to resign his role as Chelsea boss if results continue to look shambolic.
