Cristiano Ronaldo's ex-girlfriend lost 11 million Instagram followers in 24 hours
After Cristiano Ronaldo broke up with ex-partner Irina Shayk, the Russian model’s Instagram following dropped drastically.
Ronaldo dated Shayk for five years between 2010 and 2015.
After their relationship ended, Shayk told fans in 2016 to unfollow her if they “only know her as Cristiano Ronaldo’s ex-girlfriend.”
On the back of her words, it was reported that Shayk lost 11 million followers within 24 hours, which was around 75% of her total amount of followers at the time.
Now though, Shayk has over 21 million followers, which is still way below Ronaldo’s record-breaking 564 million.
Ronaldo and Shayk started dating after the pair met shortly after the Portuguese superstar’s then-world-record transfer from Manchester United to Real Madrid.
There were also rumours that the pair had an argument after Shayk decided not to attend the birthday party of Ronaldo’s mother.
However, it was reported that their relationship ended in January 2015. It is believed that Shayk wanted to have a child but at the time, Ronaldo did not want any distractions away from football.
After splitting with Ronaldo, Shayk was dating Hollywood star Bradley Cooper, but the pair’s romance ended in 2019.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo started seeing Georgina Rodriguez, an Argentinian model in 2016.
The pair are still together to this day and have had three children. One was born in 2017 and twins born in 2022.
Ronaldo is currently playing in the Middle East after signing for Saudi Arabian side Al Nassr on the back of the bitter ending to his second stint with United.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner’s contract with the Old Trafford club was torn up after his explosive interview with Piers Morgan.
Since joining Al Nassr, Ronaldo has started to recapture his best form as he has so far scored nine goals and has two assists in 10 appearances across all competitions.
