'Complicated': Chelsea manager Potter opens up on Mount contract talks
Chelsea and Mount have been finding it difficult to reach an agreement on a new contract with other EPL clubs showing interest in the player.
"It's between the club and Mason," Graham Potter said when asked about Mount's contract extension talks.
"I've spoken to him numerous times - situation, life and football. He's a fantastic person, sometimes these things happen, complicated. It's best I speak little and for them to decide what's right.
"I'm not naive and I know it's an important contract for him. These things have to be right for him and his family and it's important he makes a decision on that basis."
Mount's contract expires in the summer of 2024 and he has not signed an extension yet. There are reported differences over wage and length of the deal between him and Chelsea.
Liverpool and United are said to be considering signing the Englishman in case he becomes available for transfer.
