Bruno Fernandes gives Man Utd teammate Scott McTominay nickname after his brace for Scotland against Spain
Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes has given teammate Scott McTominay a Hollywood-inspired nickname after he continued his fine international form with a brace against Spain on Tuesday evening.
McTominay - who has struggled for minutes at Old Trafford since Erik ten Hag's arrival in the summer - has been a surprise source of goals for Scotland, having bagged back-to-back braces in their opening two Euro 2024 qualifiers.
His performances during the international break have drawn plaudits from fans and media alike, as the 26-year-old looks to play his way into Ten Hag's plans as the Red Devils enter the business end of the season.
His showing at Hampden Park on Tuesday was arguably his finest for his country and it didn't go unnoticed by United captain Bruno Fernandes, who took to Instagram to praise the Scot, accompanied by a Hollywood-inspired nickname.
"What a player mcterminator," wrote the Portuguese international, as he posted a picture of McTominay and Aston Villa captain Scott McGinn applauding the Scottish supporters following the full-time whistle.

The nickname pays reference to the 1980's sci-fi favourite the Terminator, an impenetrable robot assassin who is seemingly impossible to conquer.
McTominay took to social media after the match, posting a picture of himself celebrating alongside the caption: "What an incredible night of football."
Another of his United teammates, Alejandro Garnacho, was quick to reply: "What a player," followed by a love heart-eyes emoji.
"The way they play for me... it's a bit rubbish"
Scotland maintained their 100 per cent start to their Euro 2024 qualifying campaign, however not everyone was impressed with the performance of the Tartan Army.
Manchester City's Rodri - who wore the captain's armband for La Furia Roja on Tuesday night - slammed the performance of Scotland in his post-match interview, labelling their style of football as "a bit rubbish".
Speaking to ViaPlay, Rodri stated: “It’s the way they play - for me it’s a bit rubbish. It’s always wasting time, they provoke you, they always fall. For me, this is not football.
“The referee has to take a part in this but he said nothing. It’s a bit frustrating because we want to win and it’s difficult because they waste time, waste time. It is what it is.
"They have their weapons, we have our weapons, and we will learn for next time."
