Barcelona Midfeilder Kessie explains touching reason behind his trademark celebration
In an interview with Mundo Deportivo, Franck Kessie explained why he celebrates his goals by doing a military salute.
"It is a tribute to my father. I do it because he was in the army and later, in the war, he died, and that's why I do this celebration," the Barcelona midfielder has said.
"I used to see my father at home and when someone older than him arrived, he would give them this greeting as a sign of respect for the other person and that's why this image stuck in my head."
Kessie scored two goals for Barca this season, meaning that he had at least two occasions to celebrate like this.
Also, the Ivorian did a salute with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang during the pre-season after assisting the striker.
