'Barcelona may be stripped of UCL cups and banned from European competitions': Catalan Sports Court president
The Catalans are being accused of favourable treatment from the referees from 2016 to 2018. There is apparently some evidence that the club had been giving money to the former vice-president of the referee committee since 2003.
Catalan Sports Court president, Joan Maria Xiol, has told the media, via LaSexta "The possibility of a relegation [from European competitions] may occur. UEFA can judge facts that do not have international significance. If there is evidence of some irregularities, they can have the power to act,"
"Also, on the list of sanctions is the possibility of losing trophies and being out of European competitions definitively," he added.
If Barcelona are found guilty of bribing referees from 2003 to 2018, it might mean they would lose all 4 Champions League trophies they won during that era. However, it remains a hypothetical scenario for now.
