Santos got the call-up on the back of starring at the U20 South American Championship where he scored six goals, becoming the best player and the best goalscorer of the competition.
Despite that, he was still denied a UK work permit, but playing for the senior national side could boost his chances of getting one in the summer.
In the meantime, he'll spend the next four months on loan at Vasco da Gama, his boyhood club that agreed to sell him to Chelsea for an initial £13m fee in January. That is already proving to be a bargain for the Blues - in the summer, Santos could've cost twice as much.
