'We made too many mistakes': Henderson reacts to Real Madrid defeat
Speaking to BT Sport after Liverpool’s 5-2 loss to Real Madrid in the Champions League, Jordan Henderson said: “Very difficult. It's hard to sum it up. Frustrated.
“In the first half we performed well. We made too many mistakes and we were punished.
“They have so much quality but we didn't help ourselves tonight. I'm not sure the set-piece was a foul. The game then got away from us.
“We were unlucky to go in level - we had a good first half and we were on top. There was a big chance at 2-0. If that goes in, it's a big moment in the match”
Liverpool stormed to a 2-0 lead in the first half, but lost their heads after the half-hour mark. Real Madrid persisted and pounced on the Reds’ defensive errors, scoring five goals to get a huge lead going into the second leg.
