'We have to go to Dortmund with humility': Potter previews his first-ever Champions League knockout game
"In a knockout competition anything can happen. That’s the thing. It’s two games. I don’t think it’s valuable for us to look past Dortmund," Graham Potter said, as quoted by the Evening Standard.
"We have the capability to beat Dortmund but they are also a strong side with the capability to get a result as well. We have to understand that, go to Dortmund with humility, with respect, and try to get the result.
"Obviously it’s a tough match against a high-quality opponent. But at the same time, our team has got some good players. [This squad] has won the Champions League. They’ve experienced it. They’ll want to fight for the game, that’s for sure."
Chelsea will travel to Germany for the first leg of the Champions League Round of 16 tie against Dortmund on Wednesday.
The Blues are tenth in the Premier League table. Meanwhile, Dortmund are third in the Bundesliga standings and are hot on Bayern's trail, just three points adrift of the leaders.
The game will be the first-ever Champions League knockout game for Graham Potter, who had never managed at the Champions League level before landing the Chelsea job in September last year.
