'Was he going to have an impact straight away?': Thierry Henry reflects on Arsenal's failed pursuit of Mykhailo Mudryk
Speaking on CBS Sports, Thierry Henry said: "Arsenal go about their business a certain way. So I don't think they buy a player for the sake of buying one. Maybe they were targeting one they couldn't get.
"They go with what they can target. They went and got Jorginho. I don't think they wanted Jorginho right from the start. That was a lot of money they had to spent to buy Mykhailo Mudryk.
"Was Mudryk going to have an impact straight away on that Arsenal team? They went for Leandro Trossard that knows the league, been there a long time, can adapt quicker and better."
Arsenal were on the verge of signing Mudryk in January before Chelsea came in and matched Shakhtar Donetsk's asking price of over £87 million.
The winger has so far failed to make an impact in the Premier League as he finds himself without a goal or an assists in his first five games for the Blues.
