"Wants to get his career back on track": How Greenwood reacted to phone call with Ten Hag revealed
Mason Greenwood had his first chat with Man United manager Erik ten Hag after being cleared of his domestic assault and rape charges.
As per the Sun, the Englishman spoke with Ten Hag on the telephone and was allegedly encouraged by it.
An unnamed source told The Sun: “Mason’s spirits were lifted by it. He has been at United since he was six and just wants to get back to playing football for them.
“He is happiest with a ball at his feet and wants to get his career back on track. But he knows the club has a massive decision to make.”
In the phone call, Ten Hag reportedly told Greenwood that the club – and not him – would make the final decision on if he can make a return to action for them in the future.
He remains suspended for the time being, with United holding an internal investigation on the allegations laid against him last year.
