WATCH: Mo Salah punish Thibaut Courtois after a huge error from the Belgian
Real Madrid star Thibaut Courtois channelled his ‘inner Loris Karius’ after producing a huge howler against Liverpool in the Champions League on Tuesday evening.
Liverpool took the early lead at Anfield after Darwin Nunez, who has been heavily criticised for his lack of impact this season, produced a sensational finish.
The 23-year-old Uruguayan striker was on the receiving end of a fine cross from Mohamed Salah, with Nunez beating Courtois with a lovely fancy flick finish.
However, things turned even uglier for Madrid inside 20 minutes after Courtois’ ‘Karius-esque’ mistake.
Dani Carvajal pinged a 35-yard backpass to Courtois, who opted to try and control the ball instead of punting it clear.
Courtois decided to take a couple of nervy touches before he slipped, which allowed Salah to pounce on the loose ball and buried it into the back of the Madrid net.
