VAR official for Merseyside derby dropped after offside "Error" in Brighton vs Palace

John Brooks was the VAR official in Brighton's draw with Crystal Palace when Estupian opened the scoring with a perfectly legitimate goal.

Unfortunately for the Brighton fans, Brooks incorrectly drew the offside lines when reviewing the goal in the VAR hub and the goal was disallowed.

Brighton did go on to score but the game ended 1-1 and the massive error on the official's part cost them 2 points.

The PGMOL accepted that the goal should have stood and it was John Brooks that drew the lines incorrectly.

The official was scheduled to take on VAR duties for Liverpool vs Everton this evening as well as Man City vs Arsenal in midweek. He has now confirmed to have been replaced from both games.

Andre Marriner and David Coote will take over from Brooks in both the games.
